Ask your Excel data anything

Upload an .xlsx or .csv file and ask questions the way you would ask a colleague. Aten reads the columns, works out what the data means, and answers with a chart.

Questions like “which products had the highest margin last quarter?”, “what’s the month-over-month growth here?”, or simply “summarise this — what’s actually in it?”

An .xlsx file cannot hold more than 1,048,576 rows — that is a hard limit of the format itself, and performance degrades well before it once you add columns, formulas, and pivot tables.

If your data has outgrown the grid, export it as CSV and ask Aten instead. Aten accepts files up to 25 MB on the free plan and 100 MB on Pro, and its query engine is built for data at that scale rather than a spreadsheet grid.

Aten does not ask you to take a number on faith. Every figure comes with the SQL that produced it, so you can check the logic before you put it in front of anyone.

That matters most when the answer is surprising — you can see immediately whether the data is telling you something real or the question was interpreted differently than you meant.

Connect several files and ask questions that span all of them. Comparing two exports, or joining a product list to an orders sheet, is the kind of thing that turns into a morning of VLOOKUP work in Excel.

Aten treats your connected files as one queryable set, so a question that crosses files is just a question.

Aten is not an Excel add-in and does not install anything into Excel. It does not edit your cells, write formulas for you, build pivot tables in your workbook, or format your sheets.

It reads your data and answers questions about it. If what you need is an assistant working inside the workbook itself, Aten is the wrong shape of tool — and we would rather say so here than waste your time.
